What this depression checklist can and cannot tell you
A checklist is a starting point, not a diagnosis. Recognising several of these signs tells you something is worth looking into properly. It does not tell you what is causing them, and several different conditions can produce similar patterns.
Persistent low mood, loss of interest and changes in sleep or appetite warrant a proper assessment by a doctor. Thyroid problems and vitamin deficiencies can produce similar symptoms and are worth ruling out.
